so i know I’m not on here much anymore, but I’ve had this blog FOREVER. Y'all have been with me through high school, through ALL of college, and now I’m in my last semester of film school and I want to share my thesis project with you!

We’re shooting this November. Literally even a dollar means so much and makes a difference. A dollar pays for gas, or someone’s coffee, or hand warmers for our cold nights on set! Check out the link, share it (seriously, it’s not weird, I’ll love u forever and write poems about u), reblog this, donate if you can!
warm wishes and much love,
Mari

Proud to be an American? When the police are killing civilians I’m not proud. When men and women die in state prisons I’m not proud. When our government denies its citizens equal rights I’m not proud. I am ashamed and I am angry.
What makes me proud to be an American? I am proud that as Americans, we have freedoms and we cherish them. How proud I am that we can speak here, can protest here, can take a stand, or take a knee, here.
Patriotism is not inherent. It is meaningless if it is demanded or forced. It must be earned. Being a patriot is loving your country and your countrymen enough to question atrocity and injustice, to demand better.
Proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. Being an American, being free, isn’t standing for the anthem, it’s defending one’s right not to.
I stand, kneel, with Colin Kaepernick.
